Switzerland Offer Themselves as the Mediator Korea Tension
Bern – in the middle of Korea Peninsula tensions, Switzerland emerged volunteered to be mediator between South Korea and North Korea to find a solution. However, it looks like the offer of a neutral country that is not yet taken by the two countries.
Switzerland has sent an e-mail to the Associated Press News Agency, Wednesday (10/4). In the letter, Switzerland is reminiscent of Korea that they were there when they needed.
“Switzerland is willing to contribute to the relaxation on the peninsula of Korea, and is always willing to help to find a solution,” the contents of the statement of Switzerland.
Switzerland appears to have talks with officials from both countries Korea diplomats regarding their offer. However, both countries so far have not made a request for mediation.
Switzerland has a long track record of being host to international conflict and peace negotiations, including talks between Russia and Ukraine, between the U.S., Iran and Cuba. Switzerland has been involved in more than 15 peace negotiations in seven years, including in Sudan, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Uganda and Nepal.
